It’s Paris fashion week, mes amis!
Yves Saint Laurent was very monochromatic (just check out that garbage bag dress!) with the occasional pop of brilliant color.
Hermès was a wash of neutral color. And the word of the day was oatmeal, which really just makes me hungry.
Jean Paul Gaultier was all about height—of the hair that is. Models rocked a very ’60s vibe, which made me think of Kim Novak in an Alfred Hitchcock film.
But the winner for me? Stella McCartney’s show. Although it was very monochromatic, Stella makes the simplicity work. And she plays a great game of peek-a-boo polka dots that makes me want to find a fun and funky dotted dress myself.
BONUS: Belated Oscar Win
So I know the Oscars have been over for a week and the glitz has faded a little bit, but I couldn’t resist posting about the dress Anna Paquin wore to the Vanity Fair party. Now any fan of True Blood know Anna looks great in red, and this dress was just the right combination of chic and flirty. But what really makes the outfit? The Brian Atwood shoes. From the front, they look like ordinary black pumps. But there’s a little surprise in the back—strategically placed teeny bows! Now, those are some shoes I’d kill for. (P.S. Brian Atwood also custom made Anne Hathaway’s sparkly pumps.)
